Why your Lovable app isn't showing up on Google

Lovable apps send search engines an empty HTML page. Learn why it happens, how to confirm it on your app, and how to fix it with prerendering or SSR.

Why it happens

Lovable generates React apps built with Vite that run entirely in the browser (an SPA). When someone requests a page, the server returns nearly empty HTML with a single <div id="root">, and JavaScript builds the content afterwards.

Google can run JavaScript, but it does so in a second queue, with delays and no guarantees. Link previews on Slack, LinkedIn and X, and most AI crawlers, don't run JavaScript at all. To them, your app is a blank page.

The result: pages that don't rank, shared links without a title or image, and a product that's invisible to the people searching for exactly what you offer.

How to check your app

  1. Open your app in Chrome, right-click and choose "View page source" (not "Inspect").
  2. Look for your page's main headline. If it isn't there and you only see a <div id="root"></div> plus <script> tags, your content isn't in the initial HTML.
  3. Or paste the URL into Launch Check: the first item in the report tells you whether the HTML arrives empty and on which pages.

How to fix it

The app is client-side rendered only (SPA). Add build-time prerendering for public routes (e.g. vite-plugin-prerender / react-snap) or move public pages to SSR/SSG (e.g. Next.js or Astro), so the initial HTML already contains each route's main content, title and meta tags.
